LC_DDS (LIVIO CARUSO) was born in Rome in 1957, he has lived in Gorizia since 1981. He started drawing and painting as a child, together with his father Giorgio and grandmother Livia Dandini De Sylva. In 1971 he enrolled at the Rieti Art Institute. Between 1972 and 1973 he attended M ° Lin Delija in his house-laboratory in Antrodoco (RI) and in Rieti the workshop of the sculptor M ° Italo Crisostomi. Anna Maria Dell’Agata was his art history teacher. In 1974 he obtained the three-year diploma of Master of the art of ceramics. He begins to frequent the environments related to the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. In 1976, at the Institute of Art of Orvieto he obtained a five-year diploma in Applied Art. In 1977 he moved to Grado (GO) and attended the painter Dino Facchinetti. Since 1981 he has worked in the field of services for the disability, psychiatry and the vulnerable. From 2006 to 2021 he worked in the MiBAC, in the Isonzo State Library, within which he collaborated in the management of the "Mario Di Iorio" Art Gallery, founded and directed by Marco Menato (from 1996 to 2021). He currently collaborates with the "Lin Delija" Cultural Association of Antrodoco and the "Prologue" Contemporary Art Association of Gorizia. In 2022 he promoted, organized and coordinated the "Frammenti di un inconscio condiviso" project, which reached its second edition in 2023, involving artists from Friuli Venezia Giulia and Lazio (Italian, Albanian, Argentinian and Ukrainian). He has exhibited both on a personal and collective level, in 2021 and 2023, within the collateral program of the International Festival of èStoria, in Gorizia.

He has been exhibiting since 1975, with solo and group exhibitions. His works are present in private and public collections. From the initial classical and Renaissance style, he moved on to surrealism, at the end of the 1980s he arrived at abstractionism and material, maintaining the metaphysical soul. Current research marks a return to the neo-cubist figurative. Oil painting is the preferred technique. The works are always aimed at representing the investigation, analysis and synthesis of dreams, psychic states, moral issues, spiritual areas, concrete actions, symbolic perceptions, value contents concerning the most intimate issues of the human being in its complexity and in its becoming in the social context.
